Vato Gonzalez & MC Tjen – the first DJ & MC combination in the Netherlands who combined the energy of all forms of house music with the fast uplifting rhymes from UK Garage. The inventors of the ‘Dirty House™’ brand record label, events, mixtapes, bootlegs and publishing. Even thought they have been busy producing, spinning and MCing for a decade – their breaktrough was in 2007 with the first Dirty House Mixtape™. From that moment on they created a complete new niche in the current dance industry, build on their own backs and independent in all ways. A thing that the rest of the industry didn't always appriciate, since their indepenence made them uncontrolable by the mayor players in the scene.
Armed with strong personalities and an opinion they are not affraid of showing they are known to be the biggest rebels of the Dutch house scene. Their attitude is not about being arrogant or cocky, but they will battle for what is rightious and wipe the floor with anyone trying to screw over them or the artists or crew they back up. After their performances they are more likely to be found bouncing like mad in the crowd with all the party people than showing off in the VIP lounge. For them being an artist is not about being credible for the scene, but entertaining for the crowd. Even after 10 years of making music they still feel like the two simple guys from a small town near Rotterdam (NL ) who used to hang out on the block, listening to UK garage and hiphop all day.
As they will tell you themselves, ‘tearing the roof of’ is their trademark. A performance with unparalleled energy and nonstop hype, based on a foundation of only the most uplifting music from all over the planet with 128 beats a minute. Baltimore from the US, Baile Funk from the favelas of Brasil, techhouse from the UK, the smooth sounds of latin house from Ibiza and of course the main ingredient, the typical eclectic/crossover Dutch sound of house. When combined in one fast blend typical to Dutch DJ’s and their own super energetic stage performance – these Dirty House™ bastards have proven to set the dancefloor on fire at every occasion.
In less than 5 years these stage animals have rocked more than a thousand shows and receive full support from all the major festivals and organizations such as Extrema Outdoor, Solar Festival, Musica Republica, Dance Valley, Latin Village, Ex-Pornstar, Madhouse, Fabulous and many more. With shows all over Europe (Netherlands, Germany,UK, France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Greece) and in Caribbean (Curacao, Aruba, Surinam) Vato Gonzalez & MC Tjen are well on their way to launch the Dirty House™ concept worldwide! |
